The Smart State Strategy matters
At the heart of the Strategy lie the educational choices available to all Queenslanders; more jobs and a greater diversity of jobs; the quality of our natural environment; the zest of our culture; the speed and quality of our local, regional and global communications; the miracles of health technology; and all the infinite possibilities of discoveries and inventions to expand our lives.
We will drive a strong, integrated innovation and skills strategy – our framework for action, Smart Queensland – by:
- speeding up industry innovation through our substantial investments in the research, development, diffusion and commercialisation of ideas, and through our engagement with collaborative ventures and networks and alliances
- building the foundations for a sustainable innovative society by investing in knowledge, skills, diversity, creativity and connectivity.
Investing in just one of these elements alone, or even a few elements, will not be enough to secure growth. We will coordinate actions across all elements to achieve the Smart State.
This is the essence of Smart Queensland: a prosperous State built on our unique strengths, using our skills and ingenuity across all fields of enterprise.
Our vision is more than an aspiration. It’s an imperative if we are to outperform our global competitors.
